A catch-all email mailbox is one that collects all the emails sent to invalid addresses. For example, if your email address is info@domain.com, but somebody mistypes it and sends a message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have created. Only one mailbox per domain can have this feature enabled and in this way you’ll never miss messages because the other party has an out-of-date address or has made a typographical error. The negative aspect of using a catch-all mailbox is that you may start receiving a lot of unsolicited bulk emails, but this issue can be resolved by using anti-spam protection software. It’s also crucial to remember that a mailbox with an active catch-all functionality cannot forward incoming email messages to a third-party mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Web Hosting

In case you have a web hosting with our company and you’d like to activate the catch-all feature for a particular mailbox that you have in the account, it will take literally just a single click of the mouse in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia hosting Control Panel to accomplish that. A catch-all button is available to the right of each email address that you have created under any domain hosted in your account. You can choose one email address per domain by clicking the respective button. This will activate the feature instantly, so all email messages sent to mistyped addresses will be re-sent there. Clicking on the button again will deactivate the catch-all feature. In case you’ve got activated email forwarding, our system will exhibit a cautionary notification and you will not be able to enable the catch-all feature until you remove the forwarding or you can simply select some other mailbox to be the catch-all one.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers

A catch-all address can be configured with a few mouse clicks if you have a semi-dedicated server with us. The semi-dedicated account will be administered through our custom Hepsia Control Panel and you’ll be able to create email addresses under any domain hosted there. To enable the catch-all feature for a certain mailbox, you will need to click the icon with the exact same name, which will be to the right of each mailbox. Disabling this feature can be accomplished in the exact same manner and will not require more than a click either. If the catch-all option has already been enabled for a given domain, you will get a notification. The same is valid if the mailbox that you want to be a catch-all one has email forwarding activated, as our system will never deactivate or replace any feature automatically.
